Welcome to The Sea Birds website. For the most up-to-date happenings on the band you can also check us out at our Facebook address too.

The Sea Birds formed in late 2014. Rehearsing from lounge room of primary songwriter and guitarist Mike Amarant, the group began as an acoustic trio prior to becoming a 5-piece band. All of the band members are based in Melbourne, however Loic Mamet originally hails from Mauritius.

Dual lead vocalists Lara Wentworth and Loic Mamet provide a warm and dexterous approach to the bands work. Along with rhythm section Lucas Wentworth (bass) and James W du Plessis (drums), the band independently released their debut single "Am I wasting my time" in November 2015. Beehive Candy reviewed the single as "a stunning glimpse into the beautifully crafted repertoire of this illustrious five piece".

The bands debut 2016 EP "A Short Romance" has been reviewed by international online music outlet 'Digital Journal' as "assured, confident song writing" and is available here at our website.

In late 2017 the Sea Birds released their debut album "Blue or Grey" recorded at Studio One Be and Atlantis Sound. Produced by Australian music veteran and master producer David McCluney the album also included a number of friends and guest players contributing including Greg Arnold, Bruce Haymes & Georgia Fields amongst others.

The band have been keeping a low profile in 2018 as the band have gone back into the studio to work on new material - as well as introduce a new member to the group - but the band will be announcing some forthcoming dates soon for further shows in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
